An new tutorial This tutorial should show you how to make 3D Buttons without 3D Plugins.
First (like everytime) we create an new document. I ve used 300*150 for size. My Example should be an enter button!

We create a new layer and paint a shape with an soft paintbrush. I just scrolled the mouse up and down

Cause we need the selection of the shape later again, we duplicate the layer and turn it off.
Next we enter some text. I wrote enter. Same as above we need lateron the selection of the text. Also we duplicate it and turn it off.

Now we have the button! But we want have it 3D ;)
Therefore we make an gaussian blur over the 2 layers with radius 1,8. Afterit we take emboss with -45° height 1 and Intensity of 300%.

This Effect is easy and quick done! But it looks nice … or not?But …. nobody likes gray ;) So we have to fill up the layer with other color, or not? Ok … we create an new layer under the actual layer. We get the selection of the shape (1) and fill it with the color you wish. I used blue. The layer have to be directly under the ‘embossed’ layer. Now we change the layeroptions of the embossed from normal to hard light. .
The same we make with the textlayer. We create an new and get the selection of the old text. We fill it with the color we wish and set the layer again to hardlight!

The layers we duplicate in start we can delete now!

Perhaps you dont like ‘normal’ colors. Activate the blue layer and reder some lightingeffects on it! Play something with the values. Here we go

Is better than other buttons I will say … and without special plugins.
