SCANLINES
Lets make a few different scanlines with this tutorials.
1.Vertical Scanlines
Open a new document 2×1 pixels and zoom in as much as posible (1600%).Take out your pencil tool and set brush type on hard round 1 pixel.
Press D to reset a colors,and colorize the right sidelike this:
Go to Edit >Define Pattern and name it the Vertical scanlines.
Open a finished sig (not the PSD file) and go to Layer>Layer Style Pattern Overlay.
Select the Vertical Scanlines you just made and use the following settings:
Your signature will now have an effect like the one below
2.Horizontal Scanlines
Basicly,to create a horizontal scanlines is the same as vertical lines.
Create a new document again,but this time, instaid of 2×1 pixel make it 1×2 pixels.
Zoom in again to 1600% and colorize it with the pencil tool like this:
Go to Edit>Define Pattern and name it Horizontal Scanlines. Use it the same way as the Vertical Scanlines and the result will be like this:
3.Diagonal Scanlines
For this lines open a new document with 3×3 pixels and colorize it like this:
The Result of this one will be nice diagonal (45%) scanlines. Look at the example:
4.Scan Dots
For Dots ,instaid of lines open a new document with 2×2 pixels and colorize it like this:
With the dots it will be like this:
There a lot of different scanlines patterns to make,fell free to experiment with it. Also experiment with the opocity of the pattern layer to make the lines more , or less visible.
At last here is the example signature a used without the scanlines so you can see a clear difference:
